Belgium got to know Isaac Roux in 2022 when he snatched the audience award at Humo’s Rock Rally and, a year later, also scored in Studio Brussel’s De Nieuwe Lichting with debut single White Rose. His mix of dreamy indie folk and subtle electronics was warmly received, and appearances at Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter, Reeperbahn, and Eurosonic, among others, followed. But on his new release, Roux radically changes musical course and deliberately seeks out the rough edges of indie rock: more ripping guitars, frantic drums, bold arrangements, and rhythms that keep pushing.
